EA hopes Sony can “figure it out”

”You know, I can’t tell them what to do. I don’t know their finances… They’ve been such a great, great partner… I hope they get out of this and they figure it out and they’re around for a long time.” – Glen Schofield, EA Redwood Shores manager

Sony must be in trouble if developers are starting to speak up.  I think they might have been able to overcome their mistakes with the PS3 if the economy hadn’t turned south.  As it stands now they have the most expensive console (even with the rumored price drop) with the smallest install base in the middle of a recession, and a system that is costly to develop for.  Combine all that with the amount of money they have lost on the PS3 and Sony is indeed in a very troubling situation.
