Capcom disappointed with RE Darkside Chronicles sales in Europe, future aimed more at Xbox360/PS3

- Capcom is disappointed with Darkside Chronicles sales, feels consumers have moved on and become more broad in their interests
- 3 weeks after launch in Europe, RE:DC sold just 16k, where RE:UC sold 140k
- Capcom thinks Wii is important for family-friendly titles, but the future for them is more aimed at the 360/PS3
- Capcom is indeed concerned about the Wii market
- Capcom believes that big advertising campaigns are very important for Wii success
- Capcom believes the Wii showed its family strengths in 2009, and sees the DS as declining
- Capcom believes 2010 will be a tough year for the DS

I don’t think you can blame all of this on Wii owners.  Darkside Chronicles was a great title but on-rails games have very limited appeal.  What I don’t get is why they just don’t take the Resident Evil 4 Wii engine, make a new proper RE game with it and put it on the system.  Last I saw RE 4 Wii sold 1.6 million units, I’m sure that most of that audience is still there and would jump on a new RE.
