I didn’t realize that No More Heroes 2 had not launched in Japan yet. At any rate Marvelous has announced the title (which just happens to be one of the best game franchises of all time) for October 21st.
Along with a regular version of the game Japanese gamers will be able to pick up the ‘Hopper’s Edition’ pictured above. Included in this edition is:
- The game
- Soundtrack CD
- DVD recapping the events in the original NMH
- ‘No More Heroes 1.5′ movie written by Suda 51, details events between the two titles

Posted by Justin, on May 19th, 2010 “I do have many ideas… I would love to try to develop a game for 3DS if I have a chance… I hope for the realisation of a training remote like Luke Skywalker used for force training in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.” – Suda 51
I don’t really understand what Suda 51 is thinking of but I’m all for anything that comes out of his mind.

Posted by Justin, on May 2nd, 2010 It took him ages to get into the games industry. He had dozens of jobs before he broke into the world of gaming employment at the age of 24. Immediately before getting his first gaming job, making wrestling titles for Human Entertainment, he was working as an undertaker, which he hated.
Being an undertaker made him think about how he portrays death in games. “I’m probably one of the few game developers that’s actually seen a dead body! I’ve always wanted people to experience death in my games in a powerful way.”
He’d like to make a Killer7 sequel some day. “Unfortunately, Capcom own the rights, so it’ll probably never happen.”
Undertaker… that certainly explains a lot about Killer 7. Too bad it sounds like a sequel is out of the question.

Only Suda 51 could find a way to turn a new game announcement into a statement about diarrhea.

I want to conclude Travis Touchdown’s story with this game. But No More Heroes 2 is really for fans of the first one, so if I get a lot of response from the fans asking for a No More Heroes 3 – and as long as Rising Star make a lot of sales (glances at Rising Star PR) – then it’s possible that we could do a third game. – Suda 51

“Yes I am very pleased with the critical reception of No More Heroes 2 so far. We obviously had experience already to create the game for the Wii, so by the time we developed the sequel we knew our way around the system very well.” – Suda51
I have a little bit of an appoligie here guys, I just finally got time to finish up No More Heroes 2 a couple of days ago but have not yet written the review. Sorry. I’m hoping to get it knocked out before next Monday.
At any rate here is a preview, if you own a Wii go buy it. If you don’t own a Wii go buy one and then buy No More Heroes 2.

“I would have loved to have started making small games… When I was younger I was thinking, how come the team has to be so big to make one game? So it’s really good to have a small team and people can put forward their own ideas into the game.”
“It’s like for a music artist, they can just put out their single right away, not wait to do the full album. It’s like that, so it’s a really helpful industry. I’m jealous actually.”- Suda 51
It’s a little hard to believe that Suda 51 feels that he has limits on his creative freedom. His games don’t really seem to conform to video game industry standards (which is part of what makes them masterpieces in my opinion). Makes you wonder what he would come up with if he was an indie developer.

[Wii] Tatsunoko vs. Capcom ~50K
[Wii] No More Heroes 2 ~25K
[All] Dark Void – 22K
That’s close to known No More Heroes 2 numbers (which EEDAR reported as being 30k) so these might be close. Take it with a grain of salt though.
